Error while registering for membership or events
If you receive an error trying to register for an event or join/renew an ACG membership, this may be a result of working on a VPN. Our payment system intentionally blocks transactions that originate from anonymized VPN networks as part of our fraud prevention measures.
Anonymized VPNs are frequently used in "carding" attacks — automated attempts to test large volumes of stolen credit card numbers to identify valid ones. Because this type of traffic is disproportionately associated with fraudulent activity, our firewall applies stricter controls to transactions routed through anonymized networks. This protection helps keep both our customers and our platform secure.
How to complete the purchase:
- Temporarily disconnect from the VPN
- Once the transaction is complete, you can safely reconnect to the VPN
- Use a cell phone, tablet, or other device not on a VPN
